Helen Parker

Founder + Managing Director

After facing her own crisis pregnancy at the age of 20 with limited support, Helen established The Babes Project in 2009 with the goal of ensuring women had access to the help and care needed as they prepared for parenting. Helen continues to run The Babes Project in Melbourne and has a fierce determination to expand the organisation until every woman in Australia knows she can access support in her pregnancy.  Helen loves her coffee and dreaming, cooking and her home, which she shares with husband and two daughters.

Bec Gebert

Assistant Director

Bec joined The Babes Project team in its early days and has been a huge part of the growth and development of the organisation. Bec works tirelessly to ensure The Babes Project is run as well as it can be, overseeing the operations and keeping the standards of service delivery high.  Her heart for the vulnerable drives her work and her love of coffee fuels it! Bec loves seaside holidays, great friends and writing. She lives in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne with her husband and two children.

Emma Rowland

Executive Assistant

With a desire to see women walk through motherhood whilst being loved and given the tools needed to be a great mother, Emma’s heart connected with The Babes Project in 2010 when she became a volunteer. Emma is a Postpartum Doula and especially loves to support women in the early days at home with their newborns helping them to become strong and brave mothers. Emma works at The Babes Project as the Executive Assistant and plays a large role in overseeing the creative aspects of the organisation. Emma believes The Babes Project is unlike anything else… “We can find the smallest spark of hope in any situation and turn it into a picture of a bright future.”

Kellie Davis

People + Culture Manager

Kellie joined The Babes Project team in February 2012; as someone who loves to see the potential in people, she is a perfect fit.  After beginning her own family, Kellie spent time learning about the issues surrounding crisis pregnancy and parenting, developing a passionate concern for women and their families. Kellie has a degree in Occupational Therapy and has worked across both community and hospital settings in Brisbane and Melbourne. Kellie loves fresh air, sunshine and a good book; she is a dreamer, but with her feet firmly planted on the ground and a to do list in her hand!  Kellie and her family have finally settled in Melbourne!

Tracey Bateman

Centre Manager - Croydon

Tracey was a part of the beginning stages of The Babes Project and has been dreaming and growing with the team ever since. Herself a mother to four young children, Tracey has a passion to see women in our community loved without condition and empowered to be the best mothers possible. During the week you’ll find Tracey managing The Babes Project’s flagship Pregnancy Support Centre in Croydon, working closely to provide support to the women who are a part of the program. On the weekend Tracey keeps busy with friends and family and loves a night out at the ballet.

Staff + Volunteers

The Babes Project has a large team of amazing staff and volunteers which ensure the service provided is excellent. Spread over three hubs, the team is always growing and changing, but remains committed to ensuring women have access to support.

Board of Management

The Babes Project is accountable to a Board of Management who are responsible for all major decisions. The President (otherwise known as Managing Director) is accountable to this Board.  The Executive team work to ensure that the major decisions as decided by the President and Board of Management are implemented.
