“Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action.
These actions shape and mold the present into a future of which we can all be proud.”
– Helen Dyer

There has never been any doubt here at The Babes Project, that our power is in the people who give so much time, passion and energy to care for some of our communities vulnerable young families.  Over the years our Babes community has thrived because of people who believe in the power of giving... and it is remarkable to see.

They are not people with nothing better to do.

They are not people who are doing a few "free hours" in the hope that it turns into a job.

They are not people who are waiting until they are perfectly ready or qualified.

Our team is made up of 37 people who believe in the power of saying "here I am, how can I help?"

They fill roles to ensure women get the vital support they need when having a baby.

They have been willing to spend hours every year training.

They have said no to other jobs or opportunities because they believed in the impact of The Babes Project.

They have committed to learning, growing and working as a team.

And then they have showed up. Every week.

They have met with women and taught them, celebrated with them, cried with them, been confronted and challenged and yet they still turn up.

This week we celebrate you, dear friends... our Babes team who show up. You are changing lives.

We are so grateful; you are the heroes of our community. Thank you.

Happy National Volunteer Week!
