Executive Team

Helen Parker

Founder + CEO

After facing her own crisis pregnancy at the age of 20 with limited support, Helen established The Babes Project in 2009 with the goal of ensuring women had access to the help and care needed as they prepared for parenting. Helen continues to run The Babes Project with a fierce determination to expand the organisation until every woman in Australia knows she can access support in her pregnancy.  Helen loves her coffee, time with girlfriends, cooking and family.

Bec Gebert

Director of Operations

Bec joined The Babes Project team in its early days and has been a huge part of the growth and development of the organisation. Bec works tirelessly to ensure The Babes Project is run as well as it can be, overseeing the operations and keeping the standards of service delivery high.  Her dedication to empower the vulnerable drives her work and her love of coffee fuels it! Bec loves the beach, exploring new places and writing. She lives in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne with her husband and two children.

Emma Rowland

Director of Special Events

With a desire to see women walk through motherhood equipped and with access to healthy and supportive environments, Emma connected with The Babes Project in 2010 as a volunteer helping to set up the organisation in it's early stages. Emma is a Postpartum Doula and especially loves to support women in their early days at home after birth, helping them to become strong and proactive mothers. Emma joined the Executive Team in 2011 and her attention to detail and creative skill makes her an ideal Director of Special Projects. Whenever you attend a Babes event and are wowed by the "little things" it is Emma who is responsible. Ems believes The Babes Project is unlike anything else… “We can find the smallest spark of hope in any situation and turn it into a picture of a bright future.”

Holly-Joy Petty

Director of Innovation + Culture

Holly started volunteering as a Pregnancy Support Worker at TBP in early 2014. She soon went on to become Assistant Manager and then Centre Manager at the Croydon Centre. Holly joined the Executive team in 2017 and is looking forward to the new challenges that lie ahead in this new role as Director of Innovation & Culture. Holly is passionate about seeing women and families thrive. Outside of TBP she enjoys reading, writing, renovating and spending time with her family & friends. Together with her husband Craig, she has five children Eliza, Jess, Zach, Esther and their forever foster daughter, Kendra.
